Scottish throwers have made a strong start to 2024 – and Angela McAuslan-Kelly and Nick Percy are very much leading the way.

And the duo came up with big throws again in America over the weekend.

Angela went beyond 60m in the hammer for the first time with a throw of 60.99m at a meeting in Charlottesville. That’s fifth best all-time for Scottish women and is also a World Juniors qualifying standard.

Nick continues to impress in the States with another big discus throw out to 66.07m in Ramona. There was also a 65.97m throw in the same series.

Laura Muir took to the roads as she raced for the first time since the World Indoors in Glasgow where she finished fifth in the Women’s 3000m final.

Laura took on 5k at the Podium Dulwich event and clocked 15:19 for a big PB in her first road race over the distance for some time.

Also over 5k, there was an excellent run by Duncan Robinson to win the Flat ‘N’ Fast event delivered by Stride Athletics – as the Giffnock North athlete clocked 13:52.3.
