Alice Goodall made a superb debut over 10,000m on the track at the weekend.

The Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds athlete won the British Unis and Colleges 10,000m title with a fine run of 33:10.01 in Loughborough.

Alice has already represented GB and NI at cross country this past winter, racing at the Euro Cross in Italy.

And that 10,000m performance puts her firmly in line for the Euro U23 track and field champs later this summer in Finland.

Lewis Hannigan of Kilbarchan AAC was 11th in the Men’s race with 30:30.15.

The Scottish Students Sport Champs were held at Grangemouth on Saturday.

Windy conditions didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for this event with a big thank you to our scottishathletics Officials who helped make it happen.

In America, Alix Still picked up where she had left off in the indoor season with the Combined Events athlete in good form.

Alix was competing in Virginia and posted 5662 points in the heptathlon and that tally takes her third in the Scottish all-time list for the event.

Also in America over the weekend: good to see Joe Ewing at 3:41.36 for 1500m after recovering from an injury absence.

And Jonny Glen, now based in New Mexico, clocked 29:19.27 for 10,000m on the track at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford.
