Final Qualifiers from Ayr

scottishathletics are pleased to confirm the first batch of qualifiers for our 4J National Finals Weekend

Performances at Ayr over last weekend have resulted in a number of athletes being invited to pre-enter for February 16-18.

We are working hard alongside the staff at both the Emirates Arena in Glasgow and Grangemouth Stadium to confirm the venue for the 4J National Finals Weekend.

Until the venue has been confirmed, we are unfortunately unable to release a provisional timetable, nor provide further details about which events will take place. We plan to communicate further information later this week to enable athletes, families, coaches, officials (and us!) to make arrangements to attend.

Qualification Process

Taking part in one of the Heat Weekends allows athletes to earn the opportunity to book a confirmed place for the Finals.

The top four finishers in each age group and gender in every Heat Weekend will be offered the chance to pre-enter the Final. Athletes will only be eligible to enter the event in which they have qualified (eg. qualification in 60m does not permit you to pre-enter the Long Jump).

The Finals Weekend is set to include semi-finals and finals on the track, and one pool in each field event.

Up to 12 places in each event will be made available to those who have qualified through a Heat Weekend (four from each of the three venues), and a small number of additional places per event will be available on a first-come-first-served basis to all other scottishathletics members (after the pre-entry period).

Qualifiers have until 5pm on Tuesday 6 February to secure their guaranteed place.

Should fewer than four athletes compete in an event in a Heat Weekend, or a qualifier not take up their offered guaranteed place, additional places will go on general sale to maintain the total entries.

Should the same athlete finish in the top four in more than one Heat Weekend, they will qualify only through the earliest heat. The fifth-placed athlete in the later heat will qualify instead.

Athletes taking part in multiple Heat Weekends may also earn qualifying places in multiple events. Athletes will be able to enter a maximum of 3 events during the Finals Weekend, and must choose them at the point of entry.

How to Enter

To secure your place, log on to your SportServe account and complete the usual entry process, selecting the Finals Weekend from the Fixture Calendar.

Your account has been updated to provide pre-entry to this event.

If you share an account with family members, please ensure that you use YOUR OWN ACCOUNT to book, as an associated account will not have the required permissions. You will also not be able to book your place in the Final through the Club Portal.
