British Athletics full team announcement

Three young Scottish athletes will head to the World Juniors in South America next month.

British Athletics have named their team for the team headed for Lima in Peru for the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships.

And we’re delighted there are places for three of our 4J National Academy athletes – Angela McAuslan-Kelly in the throws and sprinters Dean Patterson and Rebecca Grieve in the Relays.

Team Leader Dan Wagner said: ‘The Championships represent a crucial stepping stone for young athletes on their journey to the pinnacle of the sport.

‘This competition not only offers invaluable international experience but also serves as a vital part of their development pathway.

‘With the Paris Olympics on the horizon, it’s inspiring to note that the majority of our Senior team have previously excelled in age group championships like this.’
