SUPERteams regional heats are hit with young athletes and clubs

The 2023 SUPERteams season is well underway, with our new regional heats format proving popular with athletes and clubs alike.

Heats were held in Ayr, Inverness, Greenock, Dunfermline and Edinburgh through April and May, with the most successful teams from each progressing to the National Final at Scotstoun on Saturday 24 June.

Spectator tickets are now available online, with athlete entries being completed by clubs.

We went along to the last of the heats, held at Saughton Sports Complex in Edinburgh on Sunday, to capture some of the action on video, as seen above.

Sue Gyford also caught up with Craig Stewart of Harmeny AC, to find out why the club had decided to partner with Corstophine AAC to host the event, and why he thinks it’s such an important experience for young athletes.

It is truly heartening to see the level of support and postivity at these events, ensuring that our young athletes have a great first experience of athletics competition.
