It is the weekend the youngest athletes at many of our clubs have been waiting for!
The 4J Studios SUPERteams are coming the Emirates Arena on Sunday as our hectic 4J Studios Indoor Season continues apace.
And it will be a special occasion, no doubt, for around 480 athletes who will make up 120 teams of U12s.
Teams of four young athletes compete on Sunday and clubs have once again shown huge commitment to this event – as they prepare to travel from across Scotland to compete in Glasgow.
Now we have the timetable and pools on the Events page in order to help team managers, parents and helpers in the countdown to Sunday.
The teams of four boys or four girls compete in four events during the course of the day. Those events are a 60m sprint, shot putt throw, long jump and then a 4 x 200m relay.
Having fun while learning events and competing as teams within a club framework is the purpose of the SUPERteams format and the fun element is the key focus for this age group.
*Teams managers must complete a team declaration form on the morning of the event to confirm their competing team from teh pool of athletes submitted at the time of entry. Additional athletes cannot be declared on the day.
*Clubs are reminded that they must ensure that ALL volunteers who are supervising teams have been suitably vetted, and where necessary are members of the PVG Scheme.
Further information on vetting and PVG is available from the scottishathletics welfare team firstname.lastname@example.org.
