Grangemouth in the sunshine! There are few better locations for track and field in Scotland and the 4J Age Groups on Sunday savoured the conditions and the atmosphere.
It was the turn of our youngest club athletes at U13 level to compete for Pbs, final places and national championship medals.
The U20 programme continued after a number of emerging Scots had made a path to the podium in that age group on Saturday, too.
With 870 athletes on start-lists over the two days there was a busy vibe around the old place and those entry numbers once again reflect Grangemouth’s popularity with our clubs.
In the U20 field events, there was a throws treble for Scotland international Logan Mitchell of Kilmarnock Harriers. Meghan Porterfield (VP-Glasgow) took a double.
English-based Kaya Slater, whose dad Roddy ran for Scotland a couple of decades ago, won the 100m title to repeat last year’s win – with a run 11.84 PB.
