The following day, saw five Scottish Disability Sport branches take part in the Sportshall Disability Final with congratulations going to Dumfries and Galloway Disability Sport who were the overall winners.

Dumfries and Galloway had a successful week with Moffat Primary School becoming the West Regional Sportshall Final winners after that event was held at the On-X, Linwood.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the Schools, Active School Co-ordinators, PE staff, Local Authorities and the students from Dundee and Angus College, West Lothian College and West of Scotland College for making this event happen.

We would also like to thank our Sportshall Coordinator Harry Baird and Ben from Sportshall for pulling this together.

Planning is now under way for next year’s event when we hope to build on this year’s event as we continue to return to normal.

Here are a couple of emails which came in:

‘Just a quick email to say thank you very much for such a fab morning yesterday. Our pupils haven’t been on a school bus or trip for over two years so they were very excited to attend. It was super organised and the kids had a brilliant time! Team Viewlands

‘Thanks for organising and running the sportshall event this morning. The pupils from Lasswade primary returned to school full of enthusiasm and had had a great time – despite finishing in bottom place! ‘
