Scottish primary schools will ‘Do the Daily Mile’ on June 18

Tuesday 4th May 2021

We’re backing the Daily Mile campaign – and urge primary schools to sign-up

Scotland are Doing the Daily Mile on Friday 18 June and we would love to see as many primary schools as possible signed up.

The Daily Mile encourages activity in youngsters and we see it as a very important programme which can help grow participation and performance in the young athletes of the future.

That’s why we’ve given the campaign our backing and schools are now signing up to enjoy the mile three times a week to improve their physical, mental and social health.

There’s a ‘Travel to Tokyo’ challenge event on-going for those involved which links youngsters to the up-coming Olympics in Japan.

Schools can sign up for that by May 10 and the response over the past fortnight has been very encouraging as more and more Scottish schools look to take up The Daily Mile.

And then, on Friday 18 June, the ‘Scotland Does the Daily Mile’ will be a nationwide virtual event for all the primary schools involved.

We want schools around Scotland to get moving and celebrate the positive benefits daily activity can have.

Every school signed up will receive a free downloadable pack that has fun and easy resources for everyone to enjoy.

To register your school (which is free) please visit: https://thedailymile.co.uk/school-signup/ and be sure to check the box to allow them to contact you – you’ll then receive information about how to sign up for each of the different initiatives.

Or contact fiona@thedailymile.co.uk

Schools already registered will  automatically receive the resources.
