Enter for Liverpool

Scotland teams for cross country have been selected for the British Cross Challenge and Euro Cross Trial event at Liverpool later this month.

GB and NI selections for the trip to Turin in December will be decided via the races at Sefton Park on Saturday 26 November.

And we are delighted to name strong Scotland selections at Senior, U23 and U20 level following on from an exciting start to the Lindsays Cross Country Season – with the Lindsays Short Course XC at Kirkcaldy last weekend a big success.

Two dozen athletes are selected with no fewer than 20 different Scottish clubs (including university clubs) having a ‘stake’ in the teams, which is good for our sport.

We send our warm congratulations to all those athletes picked for Liverpool and to their families and coaches.

Here are the Scotland teams . . .

Senior Men: Scott Stirling (Falkirk Victoria Harriers); Tom-Graham Marr (Central AC/Aberdeen Uni) and Ben MacMillan (Central AC/Stirling Uni); Callum Tharme (Strathclyde Uni/Gala Harriers)

Senior Women: Steph Twell (Kilbarchan AAC); Megan Keith (Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds/Inverness Harriers); Kirsty Walker (Edinburgh AC); Brogan Wallace (Inverclyde AC)

Men’s U23: Duncan Robinson (Giffnock North AC); Hamish Hickey (Central AC/Stirling Uni); Christian Graham (Lasswade AC/Dundee Uni); Jamie Burns (Shettleston Harriers/Glasgow Uni)

Women’s U23: Eloise Walker (Edinburgh AC/Glasgow Uni); Holly Page (Carnethy RC); Alice Goodall (Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds/Edinburgh AC); Constance Nankivell (Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds/East Sutherland AC)

Men’s U20: Lewis Hannigan (Kilbarchan AAC), Jack Patton (Kilbarchan AAC/Strathclyde Uni) and Fraser Gilmour (Kilbarchan AAC); Tendai Nyabadza (Harmeny AC)

Women’s U20: Hannah Ryding (Giffnock North AC); Meredith Reid (Inverclyde AC/Strathclyde Uni); Sarah Coutts (Fife AC); Pippa Carcas (Edinburgh AC)

Key information on the Liverpool races is online

We remind all athletes that you need to enter yourself for the event – entries close on November 19.

The British Cross Challenge event in Liverpool is always one of the best in the UK cross country calendar and it would be good to see a large Scottish presence on Merseyside on Saturday 26 November.

European Athletics host the Euro Cross at a venue just outside Turin on Sunday 11 December.
