Scotland ultra runners set for ACP races over 100k in Leicester

Scotland ultra runners picked for ACP

This weekend eight Scots are headed for Mallory Park, Leicester, to compete in this year’s Anglo Celtic Plate, the annual 100k race between the home nations and Ireland.

The runners will complete 20.72 laps of the motor racing circuit this Saturday, starting at 8am. Temperatures are expected to be cooler at the weekend but still a challenging 19 degrees.

The 100k also incorporates the British and Scottish 100k championships.

Scotland teams:

Danielle Callaghan (Falkirk Victoria Harriers); Jo Wilson (Metro Aberdeen);  Jacqueline Wilson

Joe Beaton (Tavistock AC); Michael Deason (Shettleston); Adam Gray (Penicuik); Henry Hart (Belgrave); David Shaw

Henry Hart will be hoping for a PB after his first place in Strasimeno 58K, Italy in March and setting a new Scottish 50KM road record of 2:50:35 in December 2024.

Jo Wilson returns to the 100k team after a three-year break, when she last represented Scotland she won the ACP in Perth and went up to represent GB and NI in the World 100K Championships.

There are first time vests this year for David Shaw, Adam Gray, Joe Beaton and Danielle Callaghan.
