Scotland teams headed to Wales for the Home Nations Podium 5k event on Saturday night,
And there were strong runs from our men’s team in Cardiff as they took second place in that race behind a strong Adidas selection.
Angus McMillan, and his team-mates, were in the lead group until the final lap. Angus clocked 14:00 and was followed home by Andrew Fyfe at 14:01 and Finlay Ross-Davie at 14:04 as the Scots packed well. Alasdair Kinloch held on for his 14:12.
Morag Millar was back in a Scotland vest as a mother-of-two and the Central AC athlete had a strong run to clock 16:19 in the women’s race. Stefanie Tucker, who won 5000m gold at Grangemouth a week earlier, was the second Scot at 16:35 after a well-paced race.
There were further solid runs from Kirsty Walker at 16:42 and Jenny Selman at 16:52.
Well done to our eight athletes selected and to their families, coaches and clubs.
With thanks to Angela Mudge
