Scotland vest chances up for grabs in Belfast – 5k and one mile

Monday 8th April 2024

Road Running and Cross Country selection policies

Scotland vests will be awarded early this summer for two road running opportunities.

Races over 5k and one mile in Belfast in early June have been identified by scottishathletics as new opportunities for international selection.

Thanks are due to the event organisers in Northern Ireland and to the Road Running and Cross Country Commission for their support in facilitating this vest chance.

The Belfast 5k is on Sunday 9 June and there are one mile races at the event, too.

*Scotland will select Senior teams of up to four men and up to four women for each distance.

*Selection for the 5k will take place on May 6 after our own Scottish 5k Champs at Silverknowes.

*Selection for the mile event will take place on May 27 after the BMC meet in Manchester on May 25.

*Within each of the teams there will be the option of one U23 athlete if appropriate.

*The Sri Chinmoy 5k at Silverknowes on  Friday 3 May filled up very quickly and there is a waiting list.

Anyone currently entered but unable to run can receive a full refund up until April 24 (minus Entry central admin fee) amd that will also allow someone else to run.

With thanks to Adrian Stott
