Jake Wightman improved his Personal Best in an exciting Diamond League occasion in America.
The Prefontaine Classic in Eugene has a reputation as one of the best meets outside of major championships and this year maintained that status.
Faith Kipyegon set a World Record in the Women’s 1500m and the Bowmaker Mile was special, too.
Neils Laros took the victory on the line from American Yared Nuguse with a Dutch Record run of 3:45.94.
Jake took eighth place in 3:47.82 to shave a fraction off his PB and continue his comeback after injury. Neil Gourley was at 12th place in a time of 3:49.41.
Jemma Reekie made much of the running in the Women’s 800m but had to settle for seventh place in a time of 1:58.66 which equalled her Season Best performance in 2025.
It was good to see Erin Wallace feature in a Diamond League as the Giffnock North AC athlete lined up in that Kipyegon World Record race. Erin posted 4:06.27 (after taking a fall just before the finish line).

Three Scottish athletes made the long trip to China for the first-ever World Mountain Running Cup series event in Asia.
And it proved a successful trip to the WMRA event in Chongli with an uphill event on Saturday and then a classic up and down on Sunday.
Scout Adkin has been in great form in the Series so far and came up with another second place in Saturday’s event. Fellow Scot Kirsty Dickson posted a fine fifth place finish there after a strong uphill run.
On Sunday, Scout was again second to bank more valuable World Cup Series points. Andy Douglas took a fine seventh place in the men’s race.
