Brodie Young and Carys McAulay vowed to learn from their experience after racing for GB and NI at the Euro Team Champs.

The 400m duo were in the Mixed Relay and were joined in the team in Poland by three other Scots – Adam Clayton, Alyson Bell and Will Grimsey.

GB and NI finished in fifth place overall with Brodie and Carys racing in the final event on Sunday afternoon as the team came home in sixth in the A race

‘The whole experience being away with a Senior British team has been excellent – it is a big step-up and I just have to learn what to expect in the future,’ said Brodie.

‘Now I am looking towards the Euro U23s and hopefully have a good Champs there.’

Adam made his first appearance for GB and NI in the Men’s 200m and clocked 21.18.

Adam savoured the full experience in Poland but was disappointed with his run after initially starting well before ‘almost losing my footing’ on the bend.

‘I have not executed the race the way I would have hoped which is a disappointment but I will focus now on the British Champs,’ he said.

Will Grimsey was in the high jump comp with his best clearance at 2.09m. Alyson Bell raced for the GB and NI Senior Women’s 4x100m team on Saturday night – but unfortunately the British quartet were disqualified.
