Eight athletes will represent Scotland in a road race international opportunity next month in Wales.
The Home Nations Podium 5k takes place in Cardiff on Saturday 24 August.
And we are pleased to announce selected athletes to once again race at this event after a previous visit back in 2022.
It’s brilliant to see two track and field Team Scotland Commonwealth Games athletes – Morag Millar and Jeny Selman – feature in this team. Morag was 20 years of age at Melbourne 2006 while Jenny competed at Birmingham 2022.
Scotland Men:
Peter Bradshaw (Inverclyde AC); Andrew Fyfe (Edinburgh AC); Alasdair Kinloch (Tonbridge AC); Angus McMillan (City of York AC)
Scotland Women:
Morag Millar (Central AC); Jenny Selman (Fife AC); Stefanie Tucker (Cambuslang Harriers); Kirsty Walker (Edinburgh AC)
Congratulations to these athletes selected to represent Scotland and to their families, coaches and clubs and good luck in Wales.
The race is on Saturday 24 August and is part of the Podium 5km series. The races kick off at 6pm with the Home Nations being the last event on the day.
The course is based in Bute Park in Cardiff City centre and promises fast time. Last year’s winners clocked 13:39 (Tom Mortimer) and 15:29 (Calli Thackerey).
