There was good news from America as Combined Events athlete, Alix Still, broke the all-time Scottish mark for Women’s Pentathlon with a fine indoor performance.
The Aberdeenshire athlete, now studying in Virginia, amassed 4177 points with the previous best tally set by Aileen Wilson at 4096 and set some 21 years ago at the Kelvin Hall.
Alix’s series included a PB in the 60m Hurdles at 8.41 and a PB in the shot at 11.64m, with the 1.68m in the High Jump equalling her season’s best.
Subject to the usual ratification processes, that’s a new Scottish Record for the Aberdeen AAC athlete.
Congratulations to Alix, her family and her coach!
