British Athletics website team announcement European U18s
British Athletics will send a team packed with talent to next month’s European Athletics U18 Championships.
The event will take place in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, over July 18-21.
And great to see young Scot Oliver MacDonald named within that selection to represent GB and NI at the Euro U18s.
The Giffnock North AC athlete is picked to race in the Men’s 3000m following recent strong performances and the selection process.
Darren Ritchie is team leader with the GB and NI squad and the team staff includes current scottishathletics staff members, Alison Grey and Allan Hamilton and fellow Scot, Tom Dobbing

Harmeny AC Club Development Officer and Club Coach
Contract Length: 3 year contract
Hours: 6 – 10 hours per week
Salary: £12.50 – £20 per hour (depending on skills, experience and qualifications)
Harmeny Athletic Club is a well-established and successful athletics club based in the South West of Edinburgh.
Harmeny AC, scottishathletics Impact Club of the Year 2019 and 2021, now boast a membership of over 500 members – with both adults and juniors.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new position within Harmeny AC for a Club Development Officer and Club Athletics Coach.
The post will focus on growing the club’s capacity and introducing new training sessions for the club. Apply by 12 noon on Monday 15 July, please.
The role will be part of the scottishathletics Club Together programme. Club Together is a fundamental project within Scotland’s National Strategy for athletics, Building a Culture of Success, placing a key focus on supporting the development of athletics clubs in the country.
This part time development and coaching post is funded through a partnership between Harmeny Athletic Club and scottishathletics.
