
scottishathletics are pleased to announce there will be a new international opportunity for ultra trail runners in 2026.
Scotland will be selecting up to four male and four female athletes to compete at the Run Through Lake District Running Festival 53km event in Keswick on 11 April.

The race is new for 2026. It starts in Keswick and runs along Derwent Water and through Seathwaite. Ascending Scafell Pike into Wasdale. Around Kirk Fell to Honister Pass before summiting High Spy and descending Catbells back to Keswick. With 2640m of ascent and descent over the 53km course.
Athletes who wish to be considered for selection are now being asked to declare an interest, listing any relevant performances.
Scotland Selection Details
We are asking for expressions of interest from athletes by Sunday 4 January.
Event: Run Through Lake District Running Festival
Location: Keswick, Cumbria.
Date: Saturday 11 April 2026.
Selection Date: 10 January 2026
Teams: Up to five men and five women (subject to minimum qualification)
Qualification: To be considered for selection, athletes must demonstrate experience in mountainous trail races (30km and above) and classic long hill/fell races.
