Coaches and athletes will gather this weekend for our National Training Days.
The Emirates Arena is the venue for what will be the first of a series of event specific workshops taking place over the 2019-20 winter.
Stephen Maguire, our Director of Performance and Coaching, will lead over the weekend with invited coaches and athletes given the opportunity to grow their learning in their chosen discipline.
Invited athletes will be introduced to tools and support to help frame their winter training in preparation for 2020.
The National Training Days for the moment cover Jumps, Throws, and Sprints/Hurdles with input from scottishathletics via our event leads Allan Scott, Alison Grey and Gillian Cooke as well as other experienced and respected coaches.

Meanwhile, as the winter season continues the scottishathletics coach education team have been busy organising coach education opportunities for club and community volunteers.
Last weekend saw 51 club and community coaches from all over the country complete day three of the Athletics Coach (Level 2) course. The Athletics Coach award is the cornerstone of the coach qualification pathway.
The programme supports coaches in working with athletes in the Foundation to Event Group Development Stage (typically under 18’s) and advocates a multi-event approach in the development of athletes
Further Athletics Coach Courses will be delivered in spring 2020.
A full programme of courses from Coaching Assistant and Leading in Running Fitness to Athletics Coach and Coach in Running Fitness will be advertised on our website and communicated to clubs in mid-November.
With thanks to Alison Grey
