There was great news from Spain on Sunday as we continued to reflect on the 4J Annual Awards.

Natasha Phillips came up with a PB run of 70:14 to improve her own British U20 Half Marathon record.

The Dundee Hawkhill Harrier, who had been short-listed for our U20 Athlete of the Year, took just over 60 seconds off her PB with the Valencia performance.

And the teenager is now fourth on the Scottish Senior list for Women’s Half Marathon led by . . . Eilish McColgan and Liz McColgan.

Well done to Natasha on a really fine performance on the roads after her recent Great Scottish Run victory.

The East District Cross Country League Centenary season began with a meeting at Kirkcaldy, Beveridge Park, a much used venue for league meetings. over the years.

The Seniors Men’s race featured a great race between Logan Rees (Fife AC) and Jamie Crowe (Central AC) the National Cross Country Champions of 2023 and 2024.

Back in Scotland from the United States, Logan took the victory after only getting the better of Jamie in the closing stages.

Central AC the holders were winners of the Senior Men’s team. Elsa Palmer (Edinburgh AC) won the Senior Women’s race with Corstorphine AC first team.

Brilliant to hear a total of 716 athletes finished and many thanks to Carnegie Harriers and Pitreavie AC for being the host clubs.
