The Glasgow Athletics Association served up another excellent Miler Meet – thanks to a big team effort.

With assistance as always from our volunteer Officials and, on this occasion, with some extra help from those who stage Open Graded events in Livingston, athletes raced over 1500m and 5000m.

Crownpoint was again the venue and online results were available this time via the OpenTrack system (see link above).

Kilbarchan AAC athlete Jack Patton won the GAA prize pot cash with a sub 3:46 run in the Men’s top 1500m race – as he clocked 3:43.30 to win a tight finish with Adam Brown of Aberdeen (3:43.39).

Paralympic champion Ben Sandilands finished fast for third in that race in 3:47.86 and his training partner, fellow T20 runner Steven Bryce, was under four minutes for the first time this season at 3:59.84.

Shettleston Harriers athlete Brogan Wallace took the Women’s prize pot with her 5000m run – coming home in 16:05.79 (with the standard set at 16.10).

The top male 5000m performance was by Hamish Hickey of Central Ac at 14:21.04.

The top female 1500m performance was by Hannah Anderson of East Kilbride AC at 4:17.18.

Well done to Nikki Manson and Robert Hawkins for pulling together the meeting and setting it up at relatively short notice and thanks, once again, to our Officials and volunteers.
