Megan Keith claimed another British title win on the track – and led the way on a stunning weekend of Scottish performances.

A clutch of Glasgow 2026 qualifying standards were achieved by female athletes as well two British Championship medals.

So, collectively and in a #SALtogether kind of way , it was another hugely encouraging few days with the highlights stretching from America to Europe and Britain.

*Megan Keith won the British Champs Women’s 10,000m gold for the second successive year. After winning at Highgate last year, Megan clocked 31:19.88 for second place at the University of Birmingham track and first Brit home (with the race won by Italian Elsa Palmero).

Megan was outside the World Champs consideration standard but has the mark from last year and won the trial so should now be selected for Tokyo. It was well inside the Commonwealth Games standard for Team Scotland next year.

*Logan Rees landed a bronze medal in the Men’s 10,000m Champs. Logan clocked 28:52.25 for third Brit home on the night. Just behind the Fife AC athlete, there was an excellent PB for Ryan Thomson as the Cambuslang athlete recorded 28:57.12 (fourth in the championships).

*Sarah Tait broke the Scottish Record for the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase in America. Sarah was fourth in the NCAA final as she took her PB down to an impressive 9:27.80 – and that wipes out the mark held for a number of years by Eilish McColgan (at 9:35).

*In Austria, Sarah Calvert posted a new 800m PB at 2:00.32 to get inside the Glasgow 2026 standard. The Loughborough International mile race winner was fifth in this race.

*Eloise Walker then joined the Commonwealth Games qualifying standards ‘party’ a couple of hours later. Eloise clocked 15:23 over 5000m for a strong performance by the Edinburgh AC athlete.

*Jemma Reekie was fifth in the Women’s 800m in the Stockholm Diamond League. Jemma clocked 1:58.66 to improve her Season’s Best (and sub 2:00 is of course a Commonwealth Games standard)

*In Malta, there was a Long Jump event victory for Alessandro Schenini at 7.64m.

Triple Jumper Matilda Brockley went top of the U20 rankings with a legal 12.44m jump (from only three jumps in the comp). Fourth all-time U20.

*In Belfast, Oliver MacDonald clocked a Euro U20 qualifying mark with his 3000m run at 8:03.90. The Giffnock North AC athlete moves to fourth all-time Scot at U20 for 3000m.
