Megan Keith made a highly impressive half marathon debut in the United States.

Megan finished third in a high class field in the New York Half Marathon in a time of 67:13.

And that takes the Inverness Harriers athlete, who recently set a European Record on the roads over 10k, to third in the Scottish WWomen’s all-time list. Only Eilish McColgan and Liz McColgan have run half marathon faster.

Hellen Obiri won the race in 66:33 on the streets of New York.

‘I am new to the roads and then very new to the half marathon distance,’ said Megan. ‘So we decided that I had to run sensibly and I am pleased with the performance.’

Well done to Megan and to coach Ross Cairns.

In Holland, Naomi Lang improved her half marathon PB significantly with a run of 72:40.
