British Athletics website selection story

Two young Scots are set to compete for the GB and NI U20 team at the Loughborough International.

British Athletics have announced their selection for Sunday’s event when the opposition of course includes Scotland.

Dean Patterson, who is coached by David Watson, is picked in the Men’s 4x100m squad.

And Dylan McCulloch, who is coached by Francis Smith, is selected with the Mixed Relay 4x400m squad.

Congratulations to both these athletes and their families, coaches and clubs and we wish them well for Sunday at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium.

Feelgood factor: Athletes relish Joma kit shoot

Scotland head for the Loughborough International once again this weekend.

We named the team at the end of last week and there have been a couple of changes since then.

The nature of the Loughborough International event is such that Scots can actually compete for four teams – Scotland, GB and NI U20s, Loughborough Uni and the National League – so while our focus is mainly on the team, the Scottish cohort overall will be larger than that.

Those selected for Scotland will be assisted over the weekend by our team staff, who help us manage this event.

The Team Lead is Mark Pollard, our Head of Performance, and the Team Manager will be Julie Mollison, our Head of Coaching.

The other positions are filled by a combination of staff members and volunteers

Endurance: Lewis Walker and Nichola Crawford

Jumps: Emma Lowry

Sprints: Allan Scott and Chris Baillie

Throws: Sam O’Kane

Physio: Iain McEwan
