Lindsays Trophy now across three XC events

Wednesday 30th September 2015

Entries are coming in from clubs for the National XC Relays on Saturday 24 October – as the event heads back to Cumbernauld for the 15th year!

It marks the start of the Lindsays Cross Country Season as the partnership between scottishathletics and the award-winning legal firm continues for a second year.

Support from North Lanarkshire Leisure has also enabled us to confirm agreement with VincoSport for highlights footage of the National XC Relays that day.

Scottish titles and medals are up for grabs across the hills and mud of Cumbernauld House park that afternoon and we are pleased to announce there will be a Lindsays Trophy element to the fixture, too.

Edinburgh AC were the first winners of the trophy when it was presented last week by Eilish McColgan and Ian Beattie for their performance as the club with the largest number of finishers at the National XC back in February.

Now we have extended the Lindsays Trophy ‘league table’ on finisher numbers to take in three events rather than just Callendar Park.

Finisher numbers will be added up at the end of the season for the:

National XC Relays at Cumbernauld on Saturday 24 October

Short Course Champs at Bellahouston on Saturday 7 November

National XC at Callender Park, Falkirk on Saturday 27 February 2016

So clubs are urged to galvanise their teams and entries for the main events on the calendar – starting with the National XC Relays on Saturday 24 October.

The closing date for entries (which are by post) is Tuesday 6 October.
