Three Scots competed in the Diamond League in Lausanne – and performed well as what is the very top of our sport.

Josh Kerr‘s third place in the Men’s 1500m was the highlight as the Edinburgh AC athlete came up with the second fasted run of his career for the distance.

Neil Gourley was sixth in that race and Jemma Reekie was fifth in the Women’s 800m.

Peerless Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen continued his Diamond League dominance to win in 3:28.72 with Ethiopian athlete Lamecha Girma takig a National Record in second in 3:29.51.

Josh clocked 3:29.64 and Neil was at 3:32.63.

‘It’s the first time in a couple of years I’ve been sub 3:30 so I am happy and I will get fitter and stronger as the season goes on,’ said Josh.

Commonwealth champion Mary Moraa of Kenya won the Women’s 800m in 1:57.43 with Keely Hodgkinson in second.

Jemma Reekie spoke to Stuart Weir in Switzerland after fifth place in the Diamond League Women’s 800m – with a run of 1:59.32.

‘It was a messy race from me, really, but 1:59 felt okay so I just have to take that into the next race, which will be the British Champs,’ said Jemma.
