Laura Muir opened her track season with a mile victory in Oxford on Monday evening.

Our 2026 Lindsays National XC champion has been in heavy training since winning that day at Falkirk in February.

Laura took the opportunity to support the Bannister Miles event in Oxford and duly won the Millicent Fawcett Mile in 4:34.05.

‘It wasn’t about the time today it was just about getting out and racing again,’ she said.

‘It was quite a late decision but I was keen to support an event in Britain – and win a big trophy.

‘I’ve been doing a lot of endurance stuff, so longer reps at a faster pace, and it’s making me really strong.’

This weekend Nathan Mobbs (North Ayrshire ) and Charis Crawford (Springburn) were selected and subsequently competed for Scotland at Vault Manchester Summer Series 1.
