Laura Muir is through to her third successive Olympic final at Paris 2024.

And Saturday night’s Women 1500m showdown in the Stade de France will be her 24th major final in a remarkable career of class and consistency.

All of that was apparent in a comfortable semi-final run where another sub four minute run saw Laura ease through in fourth place with the top six assured of qualication.

Faith Kipyegon won the race – and remains strong gold medal favourite despite real depth in this field – and Team GB’s Georgia Bell was another qualfier with a very solid run for second place.

In truth, Satruday’s race looks really stacked with Laura now preparing for her third Olympic final after placing seventh in Rio and silver medallist in Tokyo.

‘It is always very easy to think about the final before you get there, but you’ve got to get there first,’ said Laura.

‘This event has never been stronger so I didn’t want to take anything for granted.

‘Three times Olympian, three-time Olympic finalist. I am pretty chuffed with that.

‘I’ve had two sub 4 mins 1500ms back-to-back which is pretty crazy. I know I can run faster than I ran in Paris (Diamond League). But what it will take, we will have to wait and see.’
