World Indoors opportunity: we are looking for kit carriers (aged 14-23)

The 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships are taking place at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow with six sessions planned over three days from March 1-3.

Young athletes aged 14 to 23 are now invited to apply for volunteer roles as Kit Carriers at the event.

This is open to all scottishathletics affiliated club members.

Kit Carriers play a vital role in supporting athletes during competition by preparing, collecting, maintaining and safeguarding athlete’s kits during the competition.

Kit Carriers will be at the heart of the action and must demonstrate an ability to follow instruction and work as part of a team and show respect for the competition at all times.

We are also looking for Supervisors for each session. Supervisors must be aged 18+ and have an up-to-date PVG through their scottishathletics affiliated club as a coach, official or volunteer.

You must be available from 1-3 March 2024 and able to attend one training day prior to this.

The available sessions are:

Friday 1 March Morning Session (approx 08.30-14.00)
Friday 1 March Evening Session (approx 17.30 – 22.15)
Saturday 2 March Morning Session (approx 08.30-14.00)
Saturday 2 March Evening Session (approx 17.30 – 22.15)
Sunday 3 March Morning Session (approx 08.30-14.00)
Sunday 3 March Evening Session (approx 17.30 – 22.15)

How to apply:

If you would like to participate, then please complete this Google Form indicating which sessions you are available for. Sessions will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Athletes aged 14/15 will be offered the morning sessions only.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 19 January 2024.

Please note applications may close early if all the sessions are filled before the deadline. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of January.
