Junior Hills: sponsorship chance after Crieff Hydro support

Saturday 26th July 2025

Over the last three years, generous sponsorship from the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels for the development of junior hill running in Scotland has had a significant impact.

Our Junior Hill Running League has experienced a steady growth both in participation and the number of clubs represented.

The support from Crieff Hydro family of Hotels  has also enabled the development of annual taster days across the length and breadth of the country and enabled minibus transport of teams from Scotland to take part in various events in England.

All of these steps – increasing the awareness and opportunity – have improved the level of competition available and helped develop a sense of community among young hill runners and their families.

‘The Junior Hill Running League has gone from strength to strength with participation growing strongly in all age categories and the standard of competition increasing year-on-year,’ said Angela Mudge, who is responsible for the development of hill running for scottishathletics.

‘The sponsorship from Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has helped us make the league more attractive and competitive through improved prizes and mementos.’

Charlie Leckie, Associate Director of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: ‘At Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, we’re passionate about inspiring a spirit of adventure and exploration across all ages, and our hotels offer the perfect base for that.

‘It’s been a pleasure to support scottishathletics in developing hill running opportunities for young people, and we’re proud to see the clear progress they’ve made during our partnership.’

scottishathletics are currently reviewing the sponsorship opportunities and requirements related to the junior hill running programme.
