Josh Kerr won another big Grand Slam Track race in America – as Erin Wallace posted a 1500m Personal Best and Commonwealth Games standard.
Just two of the highlights by Scottish athletes on another strong weekend in terms of performances.
Josh beat Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker in a thrilling battle in Sunday’s Grand Slam Track meet.
The Scot produced a decisive finish in Philadelphia, storming past the American in the final few metres to win by seven-hundredths of a second in 3:44.44. Josh closed in 25.8 seconds for his final 200m.
After a fifth-placed finish in the 800m on Saturday, Kerr missed out on the top prize of $100,000 (£74,000) for the short distance group by just one point to Canada’s Marco Arop, who won the 800m.
In Europe, there was a superb race win for Erin Wallace in Nice. And Erin’s 4:02.95 for a PB was inside the Glasgow 2026 qualifying standard and top of the Scottish rankings for this year.
