Key information for Alexandra Park
Cross country will be centre stage once again this weekend as we host the Inter-District Champs and British Cross Challenge.
Alexandra Park in Glasgow is the venue for the event after having hosted the likes of the Scottish Student Sport Champs and Lindsays West Relays.
Situated close to the M8 and close to the city centre, it is a hidden gem venue with races to play out over a hilly course across the golf course.
Conditions are likely to be cold in the extreme and athletes and spectators are asked to wrap up warm.
OpenTrack start-lists (and Results on Saturday)
We are delighted to have no fewer than 700 names on a start-list with the latest leg of the British Cross Challenge included in the event.
That effectively means our Inter-District XC races become open races in all age groups from U13s through to U20s/Seniors/Masters to conclude the programme.
In the younger age groups, of course, Inter-District individual and team medals are up for grabs for competing athletes representing the East, West and North selection.
When we move up to Senor level, the Scottish Student Sport are added to the mix.
Also at Senior level, there are Scottish Cross Country Grand Prix points up for grabs.
There’s prize-money of £4000 on offer via the overall series and Alexandra Park is the third fixture of four. The final event is of course the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk in February.
