Hill runner Isla leads Scottish medal rush at Inter-Counties

A dominant performance from GB and NI international Isla Paterson of Gala Harriers saw her take the UK Inter-counties title by over two minutes.

Isla’s win helped lead Scotland East to team gold in the U19 Women’s race with Strathearn’s Tasha Myles backing her up in 12^th place.

It was the standout result from a hugely successful day on the Lancashire hills.

In the U19 men’s race, Rowan Taylor of Lasswade finished in an impressive third place behind two GB Internationals while silver for Dan McGuire of Harmeny for the U17 Men, backed up by Central’s Joel Gillan in 13^th and Dan’s Harmeny team-mate, James Wotherspoon in 16th, secured a team bronze for Scotland East.

It was team bronze too for Scotland East’s U15 boys as Seb Darlow of Gala, Jack Foley of Moorfoot Runners and Harmeny’s Rory Beattie finished in seventh, 10^th and 17^th respectively.
