Indoor Season – date changes

Following a meeting of the Track and Field Commission, there have been date changes for the scottishathletics Indoor Season for 2016.

This has come about because of changes to the season south of the border and a desire to give young athletes the opportunity to compete at the England Athletics Age Groups as well as the Scottish Age Groups, should it be appropriate.

So the Scottish Age Group Champs will now be held at the Emirates Arena on the weekend of Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March.

*Please note that there is a proposal that the U17s will join with the Scottish Seniors on Saturday 30 January in order to ease schedules following recent examples of huge entries at the Age Groups. This will also continue to enable athletes to compete ‘up an age group’ should that be agreed with their coach – i.e U17s also taking part in the U20s.

As a consequence of that Age Groups change, the Masters Track and Field indoor champs will now be at the Emirates on Saturday 13 February.

The Scottish indoor Combined Events Champs will take place on that same weekend – February 13/14 – on the Saturday and the Sunday.

(The England Athletics Age Groups will take place on February 13/14.)
