The scottishathletics Hammer Grand Prix at Crownpoint was a flashback to the original competition Hammerama in years gone by.

This August’s event also included Scottish Schools Hammer which was cancelled due to technical problems at their championship.

There was a good turnout of throwers covering the age spectrum and producing 15 PB and SB performances.

The highlight was Sophie Robertson, the U15 coached by Bill Main, with two PBs 55.59m then 56.15m for a new SSAA championship record.

Sophie was also the recipient of the SSAA Allan Quaich for best Hammer throw.

Hammerama awards for commitment,  performance and potential went to Katie Ord and Logan Mitchell.

A huge thank you to our dedicated Officials.

With thanks to Jim Green
