Greenock to host Junior Hill Champs

Cornalees Hill Race

The Scottish Junior Hill Champs are coming up later this month in Greenock.

It’s a great chance for young athletes to compete for medals and also, at U17 level, for international selection.

Sunday 19 May at 2pm is the date for diaries and competition calendar with the races taking place within the Cornalees Hill Race.

Entry is £2 on the day at the at Greenock Glenpark Harriers Clubhouse, Orangefield, Greenock PA15 1YX. Race starts from Woodstock Road PA16 9ED

Courses:

U15 (2005/2006):  4km – 164m

U17 (2003/2004) : 7km – 250m

U20 (2000/2002): 7km – 250m

The 7km race will be used as the selection race for the International Youth Cup, for athletes born in 2002/2003.

Susa in Italy is the venue this year for the International Youth Cup on Sunday 24 August with Scotland taking two teams of three athletes for the male and female races.
