Our Event Group meets were staged over the weekend as the Jumps GP and Throws GP for 2022 were concluded.

Grangemouth was the venue for our jumps athletes and coaches on Saturday, with hurdlers joining in via an open graded opportunity offered by scottishathletics.

Thanks to all those who competed and indeed who have supported the Jumps GP across four meets this season, starting at Inverness back in April.

Our throwers gathered at Linwood on Sunday for their fourth GP meet of the season and we send our thanks to all who have competed.

There were two awards made for the GP Series overall in the hammer.

Well done to our winners: Callum Hendry of VP Glasgow and Rachel Maclennan of Inverness Harriers/Sale Harriers.

Alastair Walker has come up with another awesome Masters run in a global context.

The Teviotdale Harrier competed at Tweedbank over the weekend and clocked 9:43.5 for 3000m to set a new World mark outdoors for that distance at M65.

Alastair thus improved the time held by New Zealander Derek Turnbull and now adds the 3000m outdoor Record to his World Indoor best.

Many congratulations to Alastair, his family and his coach Cathy McCourt on another superb performance in Masters athletics.
