The third and final scottishathletics Throws Grand Prix event of the summer was held at Grangemouth.
With a weather forecast for heavy rain, the morning events fared best – starting dry and then light drizzle. Unfortunately, the afternoon competitors had to endure what could only be described as monsoon.
A total of 138 athletes entered covering all Throws and it was good to see 38 Personal Bests being achieved.
Highlights on the day included Andrew Peck discus 51.07m; Jack Moncur javelin 51.00m; Murry Robb shot 13.41m and (visiting from Ireland) Leila Cummins hammer 51.63m.

A big thank you to all the Officials on a testing day when they found out . . . that their waterproof clothing wasn’t quite waterproof.
With thanks to Jim Green
