019-20 Lindsays Trophy

Giffnock North AC are leading the way as they seek to maintain their grip on the Lindsays Trophy.

The Glasgow club have the largest number of finishes at two national cross country events so far this season.

Sponsors Lindsays and scottishathletics award the Lindsays Trophy each year to the club with the highest tally from the Lindsays National XC Relays, the Lindsays Short Course and the Lindsays National XC.

Giffnock are the current holders, after winning the cup back from Garscube Harriers, and they have a lead of 39 from nearest challengers Edinburgh AC before thoughts turn to the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk on February 22 next year.

Fife AC are making a big bid for a top three finish with Central AC and Garscube completing the top five for the moment.

There are no fewer than 81 different clubs listed so far for the Lindsays Trophy, with at least one finisher at one or other or both of Cumbernauld/Kirkcaldy, and that’s a big encouragement for the sport!
