European Record alert: Fast Megan lands 10k best time from Eilish

Super Sunday as Eilish sets European Record
Megan Keith delivered a stunning road running performance to take down the European Record for 10k.
And it was a time set only a few weeks ago by Eilish McColgan that the Inverness harrier improved upon.
Megan clocked 30:07 to finish fourth in the race in Castellon, Spain.,
That was one second faster than Eilish’s European Record of 30:08. Eilish finished in sixth place in Castellon in 30:35.
It is brilliant for athletics in Scotland to have two athletes at this level in Europe in road racing at this stage of a big year.
The Spanish road race has a reputation for producing fast times and there was a men’s European record as well from Yann Schrub of France as he clocked 26:43 to beat Andreas Almgren‘s mark by two seconds.
