Results (for Scots)

Scottish Masters athletes have been in international action over the past week representing GB and Ni at the European Masters Indoor Champs event in Torun.

And the podium moments were plentiful in Poland in a superb collective effort by the Scots competing.

We make it no fewer than 30, in fact, with seven gold, 18 silver and five bronze.

Highlight was a European record in the M55 200metres by Darren Scott as he clocked 23.95. Some 22 years ago Darren won gold (not sure if he got a medal) at the Commonwealth Games as a guide runner for the Nigerian sprinter Adesoji.

Stacey Downie with two individual and two relays collected four silver medals, while John Thomson gathered gold, silver and bronze.

There was a Scottish M65 double at 800m and 1500m with wins for Paul Forbes of Edinburgh AC and John Thomson of Fife AC.

Many congratulations to all the Scots who were competing in Torun and continue to demonstrate the significant strength of Masters athletics in Scotland.
