Schedule for 13 Scots in Munich – after Jake 1000m Record in Monaco

Saturday 13th August 2022

Munich medals now the target – The Scotsman

Commonwealth medallists Laura Muir, Eilish McColgan and Jake Wightman are expected to lead the Scottish challenge at the European Championships in Germany.

Munich plays host to the event, which starts on Monday morning with marathon runner Luke Caldwell the first of 13 Scots picked for GB and NI in action.

World Champion and Commonwealth bronze medallist at 1500m, Wightman competes this time at 800m.

Jake ‘warmed up’ for Munich with a new Scottish Record for 1000m this midweek with a Monaco Diamond League meeting record of 2:13.88. It was the ninth best all-time performance globally for the distance.

Laura for her part is bidding for a sixth European title (indoors and outdoors) and defends the 2018 title she won in Berlin.

So there’s another week of top-class international athletics ahead and we’re delighted to share the schedule for Scottish athletes in Munich – these are in UK time.

Timetable is subject to change so do please double-check times on the European Athletics website as the championships unfold.

Names in brackets are dependent on progression from earlier rounds.
