Scottish duo Neil Gourley and Erin Wallace head for the European Indoors this week.
Apeldoorn in Holland is the venue for the event from Thursday (6 March) through to Sunday (March 9) and hopes are high for British success.
Neil hasn’t hidden his ambitions to be in the medal mix in the Men’s 1500m while for Erin there could be three races in four days if she performs well.
It is a special moment of course for all in the Giffnock North AC community with the club and their coaches having played a key role in the development years for both these athletes.
Places at the World Indoors a couple of weeks later could be another motivation for those competing for GB and NI in the Netherlands.
Everyone at scottishathletics sends our best wishes to Neil and Erin and to their families, coaches and Giffnock North AC.
Here’s the projected race schedule for Neil and Erin:
Thursday 6.55pm: Men’s 1500m Round One
Friday 9.15am: Women’s 800m Round One
Friday 8.15pm: Men’s 1500m Final
Saturday 6.53pm: Women’s 800m Semi-final
Sunday 3.33pm: Women’s 800m Final
