ENTER now Age Group Champs

The National Open on January 17 was a big moment for hundreds of athletes – as many set PBs and SBs at the Emirates Arena.

We were delighted with a record entry of 814 athletes and, thanks to a lot of hard work by a number of people, the event proved a success on a difficult day for travelling. See a 28-minute video highlights package prepared by Edinburgh AC coach, Stephen Ritchie.

Now scottishathletics are gearing-up for more indoor events and the weekend of February 14 and 15 promises to be another huge occasion.

That’s when the Age Group Champs take centre stage and, if the past couple of years are anything to go by, then there will be large numbers of athletes, coaches and parents again descending on the Emirates in search of improvement via competition.

So the time is right now to get your entries in via our online system.

For the U13s and u17s, the event takes place on Saturday 14 February.

For the U15s and U20s, the event takes place on Sunday 15 February.

Please note that the closing date for entries is midnight on Wednesday 28 January – so act now and make sure your name is on the start-list for the Age Groups.

There have been some outstanding performances at the Age Group Champs in recent years with Laura Muir one of those to come to the fore via the event.

In 2014, the highlights included double golds from the likes of Ross Maxwell, Elizabeth Musgrove, Cameron Tindle and Tom Chandler in the older age groups and first National Championship medals for Chirnside Chasers athletes in the younger bracket.
