Megan Keith came up with a fine fourth place at the Cross de Atapuerca 2025, a World Athletics Gold XC Tour event.
The Scot was close to third place on the run-in and the performance was timely as British Athletics pick the team for the Euro Cross in Portugal next month.
From the gun, the front pack immediately broke away with Megan right in the thick of it.
Italian Olympian Nadia Battocletti eventually eased ahead and leading four were close down the finish funnel.
Battocletti took the win in 22:21 with Sheila Jebet second some 13 seconds back. Daisy Jepkemei was third by just one second and Megan fourth by only two seconds
It was only the second distance XC for the Scottish Olympian in two years.
With thanks to Inverness Harriers
