Basketball Scotland website announcement
scottishathletics will be seeking a new Head of Development – with David Fallon headed for Basketball Scotland.
After four years with us, David has been appointed to the chief executive role with Basketball and will be leaving us later this summer.
The Head of Development is clearly one of the key roles within our sport and ourselves as governing body and applications will open soon for the post.
David has worked closely with our clubs and volunteers and led a team which combined our National Club Mangers, jogscotland and, over the last couple of years, our Community Impact team.
‘I’m really sad to be leaving my role as Head of Development at scottishathletics,’ said David.
‘The sport is in a fantastic place and I look forward to watching the continued success of Scottish athletes and athletics in Scotland from the outside.
‘The culture across the sport is unrivalled, and I’d like to thank all of our clubs, and the people behind them, for working collaboratively with me, supporting me, and making me feel so welcome.
‘I’d like to thank Colin (Hutchison) for his support and guidance over the years, and especially the wider development team for their dedication and hard work to drive the sport forward.
‘I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career and I hope to see many of you around at events in the near future.’
Congratulations to David on his appointment and thanks for all your efforts with scottishathletics.
‘We are sad to lose David at this time but appreciate this is an exciting move for him,’ said Colin.
‘I want to thank him for a lot of hard work in the role. We will advertise soon for a new Head of Development and I am sure there will be quality candidates there who will work well for our sport and with our clubs and volunteers.’
