Central AC and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds are our winners in the Scottish Cross Country Team Challenge.

The two clubs will each land £250 in prize-money for their victories in the Men’s and Women’s divisions respectively.

It was tight at the top in the Men’s table heading into the final race at the Lindsays Short Course XC at Lanark.

But victory for Central AC gave them 47 points to win by a single point from second-placed Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds and third-placed Cambuslang Harriers (45 points).

Completing the top five in the Men’s division were Glasgow Uni Hare and Hounds and Edinburgh AC.

Enter now for Lindsays District XC Champs at three venues

Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds were in a strong position prior to Lanark and silver medals there were enough to take them to victory on 49 points.

Shettleston, who didn’t make the podium at Lanark, thus mustered 45 and Short Course champions Edinburgh AC took third on 44.

Completing the top five in the Women’s division were Cambuslang and Corstorphine. Corstorphine’s bronze medals at Lanark were their first podium in this event.

The Scottish Cross Country Team Challenge is competed over three events each autumn – the Lindsays District XC Relays, the Lindsays National XC Relays and the Lindsays Short Course XC.

Well done to all our clubs and thank you for your support of these events in the Lindsays Cross Country Season.
