Our Birmingham 2022 Countdown content
As we head towards the start of the Commonwealth Games athletics sessions, our athletes are putting in those final training sessions at their holding camp, before heading to the Athlete Village in Birmingham.
We caught up with David Smith and Melanie Woods after training at Grangemouth earlier this week.
Melanie will compete in the T53/54 1500m, one of the record number of Para events integrated into the Birmingham programme.
Melanie is a Commonwealth Games debutante, but no stranger to international competition, with a European Para Champs and Paralympics already under her belt.
High jumper David is a three-time Commonwealth Games performer, having competed at Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018, and for him, the Birmingham Games will be a homecoming of sorts.
