Central AC Senior Men and the Senior Women of Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds are our Cross Country Team Challenge winners for 2022.

And both clubs had perfect records and thus maximum points from three short XC races this autumn.

Central and Edinburgh Uni first won the Lindsays District XC Relays at Gala early in October and followed that up with Senior race wins in the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld.

That gave both an advantage heading into the final race in the Cross Country Team Challenge at the Lindsays Short Course XC and their performances at Kirkcaldy merely underlined their superiority.

In the Men’s division, Central posted the full 50 points with Inverclyde AC second on 47 points and Giffnock North AC third on 43. Shettleston were fourth with Central’s B team completing the top five.

In the Women’s division, Edinburgh Uni posted the full 50 points as well, with their own B team taking second place on 43 points. Edinburgh AC, who landed silvers at Kirkcaldy, were third in the table with Shettleston Harriers in fourth.

Congratulations to Central AC and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds with both clubs to receive £250.
